Strengthening Local Ownership for the Sustainable Provision of Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services by Tigray Regional Health Bureau of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia under the President s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)

This NOFO will support the implementation of comprehensive HIV services in the Tigray Region with the ultimate goal of contributing to the attainment of the 90-90-90 targets for epidemic control of HIV/AIDS.

With this NOFO, the transition process will be strengthened by building the required capacity

for sound local ownership of the program.

Building on current achievements, the Regional Health Bureau (RHB) will implement activities that have significant impact on epidemic control of HIV/AIDS such as HIV testing services (HTS); anti-retroviral treatment (ART); care and support; prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT); Tuberculosis (TB)/HIV coinfection; sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and treatment; laboratory services; gender based violence (GBV) care; and quality improvement (QI) in scale-up and sustained sub-national units (SNUs).

Support is also provided to enhance strategic planning development, strengthening program management, coordination, and monitoring of HIV prevention, care and support, and treatment activities.

The recipient will implement its program in accordance with the goals of PEPFAR to attain maximum programmatic impact by preventing new infections, identifying and linking HIV infected individuals, engagement, and retention of persons living with HIV (PLHIV) in care and treatment services, and ensuring patients receiving ART have optimal viral suppression.
