Hospital Preparedness Program - Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement

This funding opportunity announcement is intended to support the U. S. public health and healthcare systems' ability to prepare for and to respond effectively to public health emergencies within the United States and associated territories and freely associated states.

HPP and PHEP awardees


are expected to use their cooperative agreement funding to build and sustain their public health and healthcare preparedness capabilities, ensuring that federal preparedness funds are directed to priority areas within their jurisdictions as identified through their strategic planning efforts.

Awardees must demonstrate measurable and sustainable progress toward achieving their preparedness capabilities over the five-year project period.

In addition, awardees must assure their implementation activities and programs effectively meet the needs of at-risk individuals (also known as vulnerable or special needs populations) as required under the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act (PAHPRA).

Additional Information of Eligibility:
1.

Eligible Applicants: (a) An LEA, including a charter school that is an LEA, or a consortium of LEAs.

(b) An SEA or other State agency designated by the Chief Executive of a State to participate.

(c) The Bureau of Indian Education; or (d) A partnership consisting of-- (i) One or more agencies described in subparagraph (a), (b), or (c); and (ii) At least one nonprofit organization as defined in 2 CFR 200.70 or at least one for-profit entity.
