Recovery Act - Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP)

BTOP provides grants to support the deployment of broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas, to enhance broadband capacity at public computer centers, and to encourage sustainable adoption of broadband service.

Through this support, BTOP will also advance the Recovery Act’s

credit:


objectives to spur job creation and stimulate long-term economic growth and opportunity.

The following entities are eligible to apply for assistance: (1) States, local governments, or any agency, subdivision, instrumentality, or political subdivision thereof; (2) The District of Columbia; (3) A territory or possession of the United States; (4) An Indian tribe (as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C.

§ 450b); (5) A native Hawaiian organization; (6) a non-profit foundation, a non-profit corporation, a non-profit institution, or a non profit association; (7) other non-profit entities; (8) for-profit corporations; (9) limited liability companies; and (10) cooperative or mutual organizations.
