Purpose of Program:
Section 2244 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires the Secretary to establish a comprehensive center on students at risk of not attaining full literacy skills due to a disability.
Comprehensive Centers are typically administered by the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE).
OESE is funding this Center; however, because of the Center's subject matter, it will be administered jointly by OESE and the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS).

Applications for grants under the National Comprehensive Center on Improving Literacy for Students with Disabilities competition, CFDA number 8 4. 283D, must be submitted electronically using the Governmentwide Grants.gov apply site at www.Grants.gov.
