Rural Innovation Fund Program

The purpose of the Rural Fund is to provide support for highly targeted and innovative grants dedicated to addressing the problems of concentrated rural housing distress and community poverty for projects that demonstrate a great likelihood of substantial impact in addressing the housing needs and community

HUD is making available awards in two funding categories:
Category 1, Single Purpose Grants or Comprehensive Grants that address the need for highly targeted projects that address the problem of concentrated rural housing distress and community poverty in rural areas; and Category 2 Economic Development and Entrepreneurship for Federally Recognized Indian Tribes.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible Category 1 applicants for the Rural Fund grant program are local rural nonprofit organizations, community development corporations, federally recognized Indian tribes, state housing finance agencies, and state community and/or economic development agencies.

Eligible Category 2 applicants are limited to federally recognized Indian tribes.

Also, you must meet all of the applicable threshold eligibility requirements described in Section III.C.

of the General Section.
