FY09 Health Diplomacy Training to Support the Development of Health Workforce in West Africa
This is not a Coop Agreement To Provide TA to Physicians at Rabia Balkhi Women's Hospital in Kabul.
This is a Coop Agreement to Support the Development of Health Workforce in West Africa The purpose of the cooperative agreement is to strengthen health systems in the West Africa region by supporting the development of a local health workforce that is responsive, fair and efficient to achieve the best health outcomes possible, given available resources and circumstances.
The cooperative agreement will promote collaborations with interested national and multilateral bodies to undertake training programs addressing the pilot development of the Northern Nigerian region health workforce.

Assistance will be provided only to the AFENET Secretariat for this project and HHS solicits no other applications.
AFENET is the most appropriate and qualified agency to conduct the activities under this cooperative agreement for the following reasons: 1.

Success as a leader in the improvement of health in Africa 4.
Extensive experience successively managing CDC’s FELTP and SMDP programs 5.
The implementation of this project by AFENET is in the best interests of the U. S. Government by allowing the leverage of other partner’s investments.
