Basic Center Program

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) support organizations and communities that work every day to put an end to youth homelessness, adolescent pregnancy, and domestic violence.

Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) program is accepting applications for the Basic Center Program (BCP).

The purpose of the BCP is to provide temporary shelter and counseling services to youth who have left home without permission of their parents or guardians, have been forced to leave home, or other homeless youth who might otherwise end up in the law enforcement or in the child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
In selecting eligible applicants to receive grants under this Funding Opportunity Announcement, priority will be given to private entities that have experience in providing shelter and services to runaway, homeless and street youth as required by the Runaway and Homeless Youth(RHY) Act.

Per Section 311 of the RHY Act, public and non-profit private entities, and a combination of such entities, are eligible for these grants.

For-profit organizations are not eligible, and private institutions of higher education must be non-profit entities to be eligible for this grant.

Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.

Faith-based organizations are encouraged to review the ACF Policy on Grants to Faith-Based Organizations at: http: //www.acf.hhs.gov/acf-policy-on-grants-to-faith-based-organizations.

Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from competitive review and from funding under this announcement.
